Narration was awful. Characters were half-baked and the continuous monologues made this an impossible listen for me.
Loved the concept of this one, but the combination of the endless monologue backstories and the downright awful narration for some characters made this tough to get through. I usually stick it out with audiobooks once I’ve paid for the credit but I found myself doing anything but listening to this and decided to move..
Maybe this just wasn’t my genre, but I found this story to be very predictable and the characters stereotypical.
couldn’t be bothered.inconsistent writing across charactersformulaic characters and plot pointstissue thin characters designed to suit the plot too perfectly.the voice artist speaking ‘Stella’ im sorry to say but no. just no. editors and techs are doing you a disservice not telling you that your pseudo mid atlantic over pronunciation is nauseatingly hard to hear. seasickness..
Excruciatingly painful. Trite plot, irritating narration by too many narrators and only a cursory knowledge of baking. What more could you not want?
As a fan of GBBO, you will catch all of the Lingo and references. The mystery part is just ok. I found a couple of the characters voices/cadence annoying. Having said all of that, it is a light and easy listen.
I really enjoyed listening….until the end. There wasn’t enough umphf in the big reveal. I was hoping it was something more unexpected than it had been. Underwhelmed by the ending- which is the best part of a mystery. 🙁
Great story even though I could see many of the twists coming a mile away it was still an enjoyable mystery
Absolutely loved the fresh original premise of the book. There are some twists and turns to keep you on your toes. Some of the characters voices weren’t awesome but I could get through it. Would definitely recommend!
I blasted through Only Murders in the Building so this intrigued me. I really enjoyed hearing the story unfold from multiple characters. The narrators were all bad ass and made the story enthralling. Lottie and Stella were my favorite. I found myself guessing who the murderer was, where it was committed and how. I admit..
