Didnāt like the main Character and I found the story so dull! I kept reading because of the great reviews, but it never improved.
I loved the story line and how the love, pain and friendship were so beautifully told. The overall theme of love and forgiveness were so well done. Will read again and again.
First, it was such a creative way to tell a story. Learning the characters, relationships, and story all through only the correspondence between them. Then the depth of the story of this womanās life, how she is nearing the end and despite health of experiences is only now coming to terms with some of her..
Some books stick with you and you know youāll go back to them time and time again. This is one of those books. It is heartbreaking and beautiful with a magical quality of portraying a lifetime of relationships and connection, regret and forgiveness. I loved this story. I will keep it with me always.
I cried. I laughed, and cried some more. What a beautiful story from start to finish. In a time where I find a need to go back to simpler times, (i.e less screens-ironic I know) Sybil inspires me to get on with it, āmost people will respond.ā So tomorrow I shall pull out my stationary..
The Correspondent was recommended by a friend and I had zero expectations except that she enjoys some of the same books as I. It was one of my favorites in the past 2 years and I listen to approx 2 books a month. I just loved it! The characters, the relationships and the self reflection..
At first I was bummed about listening and not reading this. But once I learned the voices and cadence of the story I changed my mind. An amazing listen.
