This is an outstanding, beautifully written story with excellent and compelling narration by all cast members.
I don’t usually enjoy books that are more acted out than read. However, just when I thought I wasn’t going to become accustomed to the manner in which the story was being told I had a turn and fell in love with the main character who initially I despised. I learned to enjoy her brass..
I like that it was read in a full cast audio format for the type of story it was. I was able to follow along easily and the characters. I highly recommend it.
Excellent readers. I’m glad I listened. Insightful human connections play out over several years. I feel lie I know all the characters.
Wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. If there was anything I didn’t like was I wanted more. Hope there is a sequel.
After reading the reviews, I knew that I’d never read anything written in this style before, but somehow, the author left me understanding the life and history of the main character, and those who surrounded her! I felt anger, sadness, compassion and joy! The narration, particularly Sybil, was the best I’ve heard! Thank you
This novel starts slowly and I almost gave up after a few letters, but stick with it. You get caught up in Cybil’s life through her correspondence and the characters are rich and real. It is an emotional roller coaster that you don’t want to end. Beautifully written and beautifully narrated, this book will remain..
I want to start writing letters now! I felt like this story had to be real. How could someone come up with so much heart of it were not from real life. This story gave me life. I loved it.
Heartbreaking, honest and emotional. A must for booklovers.. also Joan Didion fans.. reminded me of 84, Charing Cross by Helene Hanff. Loved it.
