The whole story told through letters and e-mails was lovely, interesting, and compelling. What a nice book! The sadness was palpable, and the voices beautifully performed. Brava.

What a beautiful story! So well written! Full of love, emotion, heart, heartache, and truth. Virginia’s story telling ability through letters is unique and inspiring.

The main character was unlikable. Perhaps it was the narrator’s affected speech, like a lock-jawed snob. Theodore was beautifully narrated and a character you cared about. The reading of the addresses over and over was tedious. Skip this book

It was a beautifully written and narrated book. I loved the premise of every chapter being a different form of to/from correspondence to tell the story.

Listened to The correspondent on Audible. Great performance. Good story. This book was really hyped up in Fall 2025, so I had high expectations. It wasn’t as creative / full of surprising elements or outcomes as I expected based on the hype, but it was solidly good. I would recommend it to friends.

I loved this book so much. It was about life and how we deal with loss. Each person has their own struggles. It taught me that our experiences shape the person we become. It also taught me that forgiveness and truth will set you free. Everyone should read this book. We all have our own..

The book was interesting in places, but the characters were hard to follow. It would have been more appealing as a book instead of a series of letters. The ending was odd.

A sweet and tender story written from the perspective of an older woman. The only thing that I didn’t like was the e reading of the whole address for each correspondence.
