I stuck with the story, but now wish I hadn’t wasted the time. The characters were flat, the “twists” were contrived, the narration was difficult to listen to. Skip this one!
Just when the main character, a 70 something year old women, thought she had lived her life, her life began in a new and beautiful way. She touched many people through her letters and she learned a lot about herself in the stage of life she dubbed “winter”. The book deal with loss and sadness..
Easy read, storyline seems simple then plot twist shakes it up a little to keep you engaged. Good enough to read again
4.5 ⭐️’s I heard this one was going to be a jaw-dropper, but holy cow… I was NOT expecting that! The way the author crafted this story had me questioning everything I thought I knew. Every time I thought I had it figured out, she threw me in a completely different direction. The twists were..
What a wonderful book; narration, the characters, the way the story unfolded. It kept me thoroughly entertained during a long flight to and from Europe. At first I thought it was similar to 84 Charing Cross Road, a collection of letters chronicling a life. But how wrong I was. I loved everything about this book. Sybil’s honesty and her way with words. I loved all the narrators so much.
