While the story was wonderful and the writing superb, it was the narration that brought this book to life. I loved it all!
I have never been so interested in a book, Nor have I ever found one so helpful. The monkey synonym has had a very positive impact on my family and just a very short days as we have found our own ways of discussing and visualizing our problem monkies. Thank you!
This story has more than one twist. I’m usually fine with just one, but it was an unexpected treat for there to be more than one! Great book.
Very entertaining and poignant. Beautifully read. The structure of using letters to tell the story was clever, but also very effective . I was very moved.
The Correspondent, an epistolary novel, explores the complicated life of retired attorney Sybil Van Antwerp through her exchange of letters with family, friends and a variety of other folks whose lives cross paths with hers. Expertly narrated by a full cast.
It’s like Sybil knew where to pause during the narration so I wouldn’t miss anything while I sobbed.
Maybe This Time feels very much like a prequel to Better Luck Next Time, even though neither book is officially listed as part of a series. I would give the audiobook 5 stars overall, but listening to the final 10 minutes was quite cringey.
The narrator sounds like an AI generated voice- except when she does the characters. But all the internal dialogue is robotic with strange pauses…?Andthennopausesatall.
