Style of communications via letter writing or email was inspiring to me on future correspondence
The story was reasonably good, if one overlooks the clumsy misdirection of “Poppi’s” gender. But truly annoying was the adenoidal rendering of Helen’s maudlin soliloquies. Finally, the narrator, toward the end, couldn’t keep Helen’s adenoidal rendering straight and used it when the heroine was supposedly speaking. Very sloppy.
The character development unfolded in a unique way, much like one gets to know a new friend -or – a family member. Learning about Cybil, her career, marriage, motherhood, and last quarter of life was touching delivered. I loved this book! The narrator’s were wonderful.
