getting the feeling that this series is for me. I went into the first 2 books interested in the lit rpg elements of the story, but ultimately found myself not connecting to any of the characters through the prose. I can see how this way of much more telling than showing is easier for adapting into other mediums, but a person like me enjoys being inside a character’s head and understanding their POV and why they make those decisions. this story really is just more for readers who enjoy seeing characters do cool things and not really any internal workings other than surface level. I’d say that it being life a reality show in that way is clever, if I enjoyed it at all.
no idea of I’ll continue this series, but I see why it’s had an adaptation, I just don’t find the humor, characters, or prose compelling enough to keep me engaged or immersed in this world and what’s going on.
