- What did you like best about Balance? What did you like least?
- I never really got into it. I never gave up on it, but it never captivated me either. The things I liked least were the electronically processed voices, and the endless thrusting crashing jumping turning slashing crushing grasping loudly twisting hurling flying falling bumping clawing banging dodging piercing fight scenes that caused my eyes to glaze over and my mind to tune out.
- Would you be willing to try another book from M.R. Forbes? Why or why not?
- Not really. The story line just didn’t appeal to me. I ‘dunno… Maybe I don’t have an imagination that will let me suspend all disbelief, and accept the fantasy of an alternate universe on multiple planes. It could be that I’m just to dull and boring.
- Which character – as performed by Jeff Hays – was your favorite?
- I didn’t have a “Favorite” It was a first person narrative, and we needed to at least enjoy the character of Landon. Without him there really wouldn’t be a story after all.
- Did Balance inspire you to do anything?
- No
- Any additional comments?
- The electronically processed voices were distracting. They took me out of the story, and made me aware that something was being manipulated. A subtle voice change is all that was needed.
