I think what bothers me most about this series is the fact that none of the characters are in any way believable. The alien men all have generally the same personality- horny, arrogant, entitled and unable to feel compassion. Each FMC is slightly different but the majority are strangely adult virgins (extremely fictional in America in this era), which irritates me with how it perpetuates patriarchy into this fantasy story. I read FMC fantasy books to try and escape how patriarchal our whole world is, especially now. Add to that the lack of character depth and it’s absurd that I’ve read this far into this series. I’m going to re-read the series by Victoria Aveline, which is what I think this series is aiming for. Anyone looking for a great sci-fi/romantasy I suggest checking out her series instead.
