No offense to Matt Dinniman, but I did not expect this book to hit as hard as it did when I read the premise. It is not only the ultimate RPG story, but it’s also absolutely hilarious and deeply poignant at turns. Every character is incredibly nuanced in a deeply satisfying way. That said, I don’t believe this book would shine NEARLY as much as it does with Jeff Hays’ and Sound Booth Theatre’s help. Jeff’s performance is immaculate, and the effects and production value are absolutely incredible. 10/10 book, 11/10 experience.
