I really enjoyed this story. I loved the world building. There was a lot of character development for both the children and the adults alike. But it felt like the author got to the end and panicked becuase the stories concludes at a strange spot in my opinion. I really am not a fan of stories told in a series, but I really think this author is doing themself a disservice by not breaking this up and expanding the series. I read another one of their books and it was the same. Incredible story, half baked ending.
