What an excellent story. The main character, Sybill Van Antwerp is such a dynamic character whose sass and no-BS attitude is positively endearing. The way the story unfolds is so beautiful, and the way you learn more about what makes her the way she is- it is told in a way that gives you just the right amount of information at just the right time. It is a story that demonstrates how one persons voice can have a profound effect on other people, even in ways you could have never imagined. I love the way she (the main character) even manages to find a way to turn a person who is essentially stalking her (and whose behavior and letters might warrant a call to the police) into a friend – but in a way that is completely realistic and believable. It has moments of lightheartedness and also touches on the deepest and darkest parts of human emotion. This book is well written, and it is very interesting to get most of the story through a series of letters. I loved it, and I love how it captures and demonstrates how there are seasons of life. Would recommend 1,000% – to my friends, bookclub, but also to my grandmother (who also happens to be reading it and loves it).
