Overall a pretty solid true crime read. The author jumped around in timeline a bit too much, which made it a challenge to follow sometimes. For me, a more linear timeline would have worked better. The be fair, this crime is a very difficult one to navigate, as it took place over so long and was as insidious as it was heinous. Since we are recently past the peak of Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s fame, this book will likely draw a larger audience. However, lacking the salacious details of that story, it’s unlikely to achieve that type of reader engagement.
