What made the experience of listening to In Milady’s Chamber the most enjoyable?
This is the first book in the John Pickett series. John has advanced from a runner and this is his first real case – investigating the murder of Lord Fieldhurst. When John first meets the new widow Lady Fieldhurst he develops a crush, and he struggles with the right and wrong of this crush throughout his murder investigation.

Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked John when I listened to the audio version of Pickpocket’s Apprentice and that liking grew as John follows clues and tries to save Lady Fieldhurst, who he is convinced is innocent, from the gallows. He’s young and naïve, yet determined to do the best job he can for his mentor, the magistrate and also to save Lady Fieldhust.
What about Joel Froomkin’s performance did you like?
I had my suspicions early on as to who the true murderer was. I didn’t get it quite right, but I was on the correct track. The period details lend the perfect amount of color without bogging down the story while the narrator is excellent. His accents and voices make the story shine. This story was the perfect way to fill in time while walking the dog.
