I became convinced that this book was written to be an audiobook, given the strength of the narration and the production. The narrator, Jeff Hays, sounds like a cross between Patrick Warburton and William Shatner when voicing the main character, Carl. Fun! His other voices are fantastic as well.
The story is good, full of sci fi and video game tropes. It’s not a book that will surprise you, but it’s highly entertaining and I already got the second book.
