This novella takes our four main couples from Mrs. Ash’s “Fighting” series and all their kids (a literal dozen between them if you could their fighting student they take in, lol) on a Christmas vacation, it being the last one before Bella and Triston graduate.
All the little nods to the main series and seeing the kids growing into their own a bit more is engaging. It’s a simple story, nothing overly dramatic, but that’s good for the season.
And yes…each pairing, and one surprise additional one, gets spicy added to this hot chocolate of a tale.
I did find out this is a mid-quel is between the Fighting series and what happens to their children when they go into the world as fresh adults. New beginnings, as Triston explains.
The narrators did a good job. I am sure trying to capture a story with so many established characters to readers was a challenge, but I feel they made it shine like the star on the tree. As long as Elsa the dog didn’t knock it over again.
A fun little listen.
