The premise, story, and synopsis hides the deep and thoughtful characters and world Matt has hidden here. I won’t say it’s a slow burn, but by midway through what seems like a Saturday morning cartoon very quickly morphs into a true science fiction premise about humanity, and just what and who gets to be human in the best traditions of the genre. very much worth a visit, and the cameo of Jeff Hayes is fitting, and appreciated. Travis Baldree does a fantastic job bringing the entire world of New Senora to life, and helps elevate the reading to bring humanity to not just the characters, but the entire story. Definitely a recommend.
