Rush left the West Coast for the East looking for a new beginning but it’s not that easy. Right as it seems he may have a chance at the life he never dared to hope for, his past has caught up with him. Now someone wants Lars, his best friend, and Landry, his everything, to pay for what they believe him to be guilty of. He’s determined no one else will suffer for his past. And this time he’s not alone. People believe in him. He’s Elite.
This was a surprise. I honestly did not expect to like Rush but he quickly won me over. His complicated past and tortured soul along with his cocky demeanor and rare vulnerable moments made him a great character. He and Landry were good together but the love story was of secondary importance to me. I enjoyed this book because of Rush’s character arc. His emotional growth was fantastic. Watching him open up, learn to trust his teammates, and develop a rapport with Coach made this book for me. Of course, my favorite was his relationship with Lars. Adorable. I enjoy Westbrook University and Elite and look forward to more.
Cecily Foster and Gavin McAllister narrated and they were excellent. Each brought their character to life, portraying them exactly like I imagined. Gavin, especially did a wonderful job on Rush and the rest of the team. He became Elite.
