Overall, I really enjoyed the story and the unique format. Now, I will channel Sybil as I lodge my criticisms: As with so many audiobooks, it seems no one is paying attention to pronunciation of certain words; in this book, the word was “Daan.” It’s stated that he’s a Dutch man living in Belgium. No Dutch man would pronounce this name as “Dan”, but rather, “Dahn.” Even when one narrator is supposed to be Belgian, she also pronounces it “Dan.” Most of the narrators were excellent, with the exception of the one doing the voice of “D.M.” My lord. This was supposed to be an Italian guy from New Jersey? The accent was all over the place. Get Bobby Cannavale next time and call it a day. Thankfully these small issues didn’t take away from my overall experience of listening to this highly engaging and entertaining book.
