This was such a cool alternate reality story. Reese has Empath powers and is persecuted for being who he is. His police officer sister is his greatest protector and best friend. When he tries to help her with a case he unknowingly learns more than he ever wanted about the Dead Man, Empaths, his sister, himself, and the powers in the government. As chaos runs rampant he learns who his real friends are and how far he will go to protect his people. If you like a police procedural type story with supernatural underpinnings this book perfect.
The narrator was perfect for this story and gave every character a voice beyond the story.
