As my first LitRPG, this was oddly entertaining!
Carl finds himself stuck in a game where he must survive a dungeon filled with monsters, goblins, and outrageous traps alongside his ex’s sassy cat, Princess Donut.
It was silly and absolutely chaotic BUT in a good way. It was also completely action packed where the characters literally could not take a break lol. It was actually almost too much for me where it couldn’t quite keep my attention in some parts? There was definitely a lot going on. And although I’m not much of a gamer, it was still entertaining with some fun, laugh out loud moments.
I honestly wasn’t really attached with either Carl or Donut here (I know, don’t crucify me😩). I can see how they are loved, but they personally didn’t really stick with me like other fantasy characters have. I’m hoping that will change as the series and their levels progress!
Overall, highly recommend the audio! Fantastic, super fun narrator- no notes here!! But if I could do it again (which I may eventually), I would do an immersive read. There was just too many things going on in which I felt I would have appreciated better had I been reading along as I listened.
