Angst, lack of communication, quiet or whispering narrator.

Please keep in mind that I have a high personal dislike of the above mentioned tropes. If you enjoy them then you will love this book.

The story was good if you don’t mind the above mentioned tropes. I did want to enjoy the story! I am glad it is available on Audible+ because I would have been disappointed to loose a credit to this book.

So this book was packed full of angst and lack of communication. The FMC is all over the place. Elaboration: one minute she is ‘strong’ the next she is ‘weak’ to the point of not able to stand up for herself. The characters did not communicate on most things, so it was full of misunderstandings. The explanation of the mother’s death was worded for a ‘dark mafia’ type romance not a ‘by the book business man’ type romance. That became confusing and misleading.

Finally the female narrator was quite. It felt asmost like she was reading in the room next to a sleeping baby. This mad the book extremely hard to hear on my ear buds. I was unable to listen to the book while outside of the house.
