Usually I hate stories that constantly try to surprise because the surprises don’t make any sense. In DCC though Matt takes great care to set the pieces in place for you even if you can’t see all of the board. So he can consistently surprise you without breaking the story’s back. If you’ve made it this far you know you like DCC and this book is going to deliver the same awesome story telling and universe building you want from DCC.
