I’ve been following Nathan Lowell for almost a decade now. It was odd hearing his stories in someone else’s voice for once, after all nobody knows what the characters are feeling better than the author but the narrator did a great job. Nathan is rather soft spoken and Jeffrey Kafer manages to add a lot of depth and emotional range.
Nathan Lowell’s body of work is almost unique among science fiction authors. Instead of focusing on huge earth shattering plots he creates characters and let’s us live in the moment with them. He’s mastered the art of universe building without getting bogged down in description as can happen to even the best of authors. These stories won’t be for everyone but if you like me and are looking for a great story that focuses on the everyday lives of some extraordinary characters you’ll find yourself coming back to his works again and again.
