Outwardly the title of this book makes me think its just gonna be a hard headed silent man of action romping around the forests of a fantasy setting, and while it is that, and very much so I cant help but appreciate the other parts of it as well. Also the art made me think the main character and the setting was going to be mostly inspired by Warhammer 40k, but as an old school halo fan I was surprised how much the story gives homage and even has obvious love for the old bungie era franchise. The world itself seems initially commonly generic but as things are trickled into the story it felt more and more its own unique experience. I could not help wanting to continue to learn something new about the world or see how characters respond to situations and learn more from them.

About the audio itself, I actually didn’t mind the voices as much as others and thought they were fine. I just have a personal preference where I dont like when its split between two people.

The scenes with Michael where amazing, he is probably my favorite character. The pod and the lingering fear of darkness even after the fact felt so primal. Took me completely by surprise.

I also really liked how despite his armor looking unharmed after fighting the pillar born he was battered from the concusive forces. And the whole going wendigo thing seems super cool.
