I’m a Vietnam Veteran who piloted helicopters during that war. I’m always interested in the experiences of my fellow veterans and I believe that anybody who served over there deserves great respect. However, I was mislead by the title of this book. I expected to read war stories about aerial battles. Instead, I got a blow-by-blow excruciatingly detailed account of service duties, including every boring administrative job performed by this officer. Yes, there were some details of missions flown in Vietnam but these were described as an after thought in such a monotone that I soon lost interest. If you are looking for excitement, read something else.
