The MC does absolutely nothing of note for the entire story, after he got the tower built. the story just stopped being interesting, it was basically just a tower defense story with a mediocre mage that is apparently Overpowered even tho we never see him do anything at all, I won’t be getting book 2. The only nice thing about this book is that the MC is a Half Elf, which is pretty unique, unlike the normal human MCs in most stories.
