No spoilers of course. But Jeff Hays has done it again with another brilliant performance of this narrative. This time, his talent extends into songs. Matt Dinniman has delivered an in-depth, explosive book 8 of the series that Hays performs with enthusiasm and precision. Every character is consistent and yet uniquely voiced and the story being weaved under the surface is compelling and addictive. This book stands out amongst the others for its thoughtfulness and its somber moments combined with humor in unexpected ways. This book delivers on what Dinniman has been promising for 7 books in terms of the narrative being driven forward. And now at the end, I can’t wait to read the next one and find out what happens. There’s lore. There’s social commentary. And there’s humanity beneath all the wild creatures and technologies.
