Book starts pretty slow with a LOT of grinding, planning, and necromancy setup. I almost dropped it a few times early on. But once the world opens up and the summons start becoming important, the story gets WAY better. The skull, the vampire, the ending… yeah, that payoff was worth it. The comic relief was dope too and helped balance out some of the darker parts of the story. Ended up jumping straight into Book 3.
Also, the narrator sounded much better for me sped up. Humanity really out here making necromancers talk in slow motion.
