I wasn’t expecting the handful of pure smut but I went in this somewhat blind. It was a push to get through the first half of the book. Seems like it’s a trend for female main characters to whine a lot. Was an interesting plot but doesn’t feel as interesting as it could be. But again I like stories with more to the plot other than sex and relationship issues. I felt like I could have skipped through some chapters and still understand the full story and not be lost. Felt like alot of filler or maybe a lot of foreshadowing. I will be pleasantly shocked if all that filler was foreshadowing however it almost made me stop and lose interest many times. I do understand many probably love this but the others who are like me would like the heads up. I’m in a reading/listening rut right now and will give the next book in the series a shot. I’m hoping that the plot picks up now. Not a big fan of the voice/narration. She sounds to upbeat for this kinda storyline but that’s just my opinion. Will say the world building and learning the basics of this world is pretty solid and not too overdone, not overwhelming and very easy read/listening.
