The story is interesting enough, but having spent the last 20 years in Boulder, every time they refer to CU Boulder as “UCB” or say that something is “as dry as the Colorado river in the middle of a hot summer month” (when every river and creek in CO, and most everywhere where snowmelt exists is highest) or keep referring to some bar that has never existed in Boulder, I am completely thrown out of the story. The intro seems to indicate the author is familiar with Boulder, but this is definitely not the case. If you are at all familiar with Colorado, especially Boulder, you’ll likely be just as unable to appreciate the positives of this series as I am. It’s a real bummer, but I am so thrown off.
