Gahhhh this one was my favorite of the trilogy so far (I hope we get more from this world, I am loving these cute, sexy, and palate cleanser from some of the darker books I listen to!) I enjoyed how hard Miles fell and how he had to work on getting Roxy to see him as more than a friend. I get her worry, that if something were to happen between them it would ruin the friend dynamic, but he ends up putting everything in jeopardy anyway. So why not go with your heart and just have the leap of faith?!
I enjoyed this sports romance, friends to lovers, reluctant romance hahaha. The football hints and glimpses were so fun, I enjoyed his explanations to Roxy (an avid football fan here made me giggle haha). I liked seeing for once he guy being the first to fall and the one to push for the relationship, it was a nice change of pace. I thought the friends in this one were spot on too, like come on girl we all know you like him and he likes you…just go for it!! The tension and chemistry between them was ridiculous, I loved how protective he was of her (him barging in on her date was hilarious and knight in shining armor). I like they could be blunt with one another, they didnt hold back when one was being ridiculous (even though Miles had to play off the friends with benefits thing for a bit). Miles proved himself time and time again Roxy could depend on him, that he wasnt going to go anywhere. I also loved how golden retriever, funny guy, flirtiness galore Miles was. He made me smile so much and I was so jelly of Roxy haha.
Narration was good again in this one, the male narrator had to switch it up (I mean he did book 1 so that helped cement these personalities of all the guys) and really did a great job with Milesβ performances. It was so believable, the angst of not being with Roxy fully, the perseverance to make her his, and his goofy but sexy nature was perfection. The female narrator did a good job in this one as well, with how stubborn Roxy was, but how deep down she wanted to let Miles in and sweep her off her feet. She did a great job with the friends as well, keeping their personalities in check and making them all believable and come to life for listeners. Overall solid 4.5/5 for the narration!
Couldn’t get enough of this story, the ending make me laugh so hard and the smile stayed on my face hours afterward. This is the kind of book that makes you feel good and brightens your day. Loved their love story, wish it was longer πππ
