I entered this medical sapphic Seattle universe out of order. I started with “An unexpected affair.” Which means I had the pleasure of Abby Craden’s narration 🙏🏻
Quinn Riley is in my top 5 narrators was a delight as always. 💜
Charlie L Wood was a new narrator for me and I was disappointed. I found her performance flat and monotone. I kind of understand why given Blake’s personality, but it didn’t work for me.
Now I’m being extra picky: I feel like the editing could be better. Repetitive phrasing / word choices could have been addressed.

The character & story development are captivating, the medical realism is not there (but that’s not the point), narration is: score 1 for Quinn and null for Charlie, the steam is stellar 🔥
I debated calling it quits when Blake had several chapters in a row because the narration annoyed me, but Skye has woven a good story. I need to know the details! Definitely going to to finish the trilogy, but maybe on kindle.
