This book contains some really important ideas & can be a good starting point for discussions about what we want our world to be like. However it’s a terrible novel. The book started out pretty good, then just unraveled. The writing itself was awful. I never want to hear the word “regarded” again. He used it so much I thought maybe he never had an editor on this book. The character Mary was way too naive to be in the position that she has that it took me completely out of the story. The gimmick he used where some chapters were just a secretary’s short hand of some meetings were painful to get through. It took me a couple of months to finish this book. The last half of the book was just an arduous chore to get through. I won’t be reading this author again.
