The book started easily enough and genuinely held my attention. However, some parts just felt rushed. The ending, especially, and I can’t really say that I enjoyed it.
Rig is a man content with his life, home, and employment. That is, until Erin and her boyfriend arrive. After the first couple of encounters with Erin, warning bells seemed to ring. Still, they completely escaped Rig, whose awareness that something was off didn’t come until much later, given that his mind is often clouded with thoughts of everything but what he should’ve been focusing on. If ever there were a time to listen to his friends/ coworkers/ neighbors.
I read the book while listening to the Audible, which I unfortunately would not recommend. The narrator was absolutely horrible. It felt like listening to Ben Stein and the virtual voice combined. Yeah, it’s that bad, and it is the primary reason for my rating.
