Good start to a series. Overall an entertaining, engaging and enjoyable story.

Mystery, suspense, detective work with a bit of gay steamy romance all woven into an entertaining listen. There’s a bit of a love triangle brewing. Which could be really interesting in the next installment.

Jimmy McSwain an Irish/American Private Detective from Hell’s Kitchen in New York is hired to find Harris Rothschild the son of a wealthy couple who has been “missing” for 2 weeks. The reason they chose him for the job? He is gay. So is their son. They believe this will give him an “advantage” in the search for their son. Not everyone has the support and love of their family when they come out to them. Unfortunately this is the case for Harris. His father cannot accept who he is. There really isn’t much “detective” work to the story really. Jimmy finds Harris rather easily. It’s everything else going on in the story that made it an enjoyable listen.

Joel Leslie did a good job with the narration. Nice voice. Easy to listen to. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Good character voices and accents. His narration of this story was much softer and less gravelly than some of the other books I have heard him narrate. He was able to make the characters and story come to life through his narration. Very enjoyable.

A repeated line in chapter 10 is the only editing issue I noticed.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher.
