First let me say that I received this book free of charge in exchange for my unbiased review.

I was really looking forward to listening to this book because while had never heard of the author, I was very familiar with both of the narrators. The narrators did a great job as I expected, but the story was a bit difficult to follow at times.

Becket Royce reads the parts of the story from a first person account of events. This person is a college student with a group of friends from her university that were together when the power went out. They are on a mission to get back to the main characters’ home.

Kevin Pierce reads the parts that have to do with what’s going on in the town the college students are heading towards.

The book does a very good job of building the storyline and the characters, but the story doesn’t seem to flow. There is 4 or 5 chapters in a row about one set of characters, followed by 2 or 3 about the others. If this was a movie, it would be like 45 minutes in one place with no mention of the other place; suddenly your thrust into the other place for 20 minutes.

I think the story would have been easier to follow if there were only one narrrator or if this had been two separate books that could merge into one as the storylines progressed.
