I don’t know why I’m listening to this… sure, it’s funny, sure, the world-building is intriguing; the main characters are likable, the plot is fairly unique, etcetera. But What in the world!? It’s like half of the story is about shocking the reader with just how off-color, gratuitous, and sadistic the scenes can be. Not my normal speed, at all… but here I am, having bought the third book, even after listening to this one. Seriously, why am I still listening??
