I had no idea what to expect when I started the series. it is frankly excellent. I come from a long fantasy reading background stretching decades. I have not had a story grab me like this in a long time. it reminds me of my first few forays into great science fiction like Brust, Asimov or Zalazny. trust me don’t overthink it, just by the book. it’s amazing. The narrator Jeff does a good job in this book, but really hits his stride in the next one.
