I’m an avid reader of all of Jeneva Rose’s books since I discovered her recently. I decided to give this one a go because it was one of her quicker listens to break it up between her longer works. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because Chase, one of the main characters, is hopelessly Gen Z #criminallyannoying, if you will. I almost stopped listening after part 3 or 4 because he grated my nerves so badly but I stuck it out because I know how great of a writer Jeneva is overall. Ultimately, I am not disappointed that I stuck it out because in true Jeneva fashion, she knows how to lure in her readers. If you can get past the blissful ignorance from Chase in the first few parts he will somewhat grow on you and is worth giving it a listen.
