I loved this book. Very well written, researched and read so eloquently. I usually listen to Audible as I work outside or in the greenhouse, but with this book and the subject, I usually sat, stuck to my chair to hear every word. I hit rewind many times to make sure I understood what was going on.
I am at an age where I just want to “coast” ,
not having to worry about computer entries or deadlines anymore. I live in a beautiful rural area and do not think about all the high tech programs or the next big “thing”. The cold reality for me is how well AI knows me, my likes, want and needs. I have grown to accept it. I realize now how dangerous that is and how easily I accepted the information of AI as truth. Now the data centers have come courting our state and trying to buy large tracts of land for these needed data centers..taking water we can’t spare and power we can hardly afford now.
It will never end and I am so uneasy about our future…
