What’s the word kids use nowadays? Cringe. Because this book was exactly that.
It started off good. The abusive dad and the traumatized child bonding with his adoptive baby sister was actually sweet and pulled me in. But then it got weird. The relationship took a turn that felt really uncomfortable and crossed into taboo porno scene way too fast.
There’s just something about a caregiving relationship turning sexual that doesn’t sit right with me at all. It completely ruined the story for me.
I’m curious how it ends, but honestly, I’m too uncomfortable to keep reading.
