but here I sit with moist checks, just having finished listening to this Interesting, Heartwarming, Humorous (at times), Authentic, Heartbreaking, sometimes Raw and SO RELATABLE telling of a woman’s life through the MANY letters she wrote to a variety of people throughout the remaining years of her older life.
As someone who also had a particular love for letter writing to family, friends, acquaintances and a few “Pen Pals” during my younger years, (until I no longer had anyone willing to sit down to ACTUALLY Write Back) I had no doubt that I would thoroughly enjoy “The Correspondent”.
What I didn’t anticipate was how deeply I would be touched by this beautiful book.
I listened to this via Audible, but now will, most definitely, need to purchase my own copy to hold in my hands and to pass on to future generations. What beautiful lessons this story holds. 💖
