Ryun sucks. I can’t stand anything about him and unfortunately this author decided to make the whole book about his worst character. it’s just a power fantasy. Ryan gets more and more powerful without trying very hard. he earns nothing. the obstacles are thinly veiled excuses to shower him in unearned power. cool setting, cool magic system, lots of cool characters…. all ruined by the author’s power fantasy. it’s a shame.
