I am not a big fan of the “loveable goofball and sarcastic nonhuman companion” genre. I am also not typically a fan of the goofy over the top silliness that D&D often becomes. I say all this to emphasize that I still bought the next book. This is extremely well performed and the premise is very interestingly executed. if something can capture my attention despite being absolutely not my “type” it deserves a positive review.
