SYBIL! Now all I want for my birthday is a stationary set and some pen pals! This book was unique in that it is told entirely in letters to and from our main character, Sybil. From her children, friends, authors, and anyone else she deemed worthy of keeping in correspondence with. It was marvelously human. You see character growth even for someone in their seventies, and process her life with her in such an honest way. She is also dealing with losing her vision, and as someone battling chronic illnesses, this added an appreciated layer of relatability for me.
