Perhaps it’s my personal taste, but the flashbacks totally derailed the story for me. Every time it picked up momentum, bam. Dead stop.

On the plus side, the narrator was great. I’ve heard him before and never been disappointed in a performance.

I was still giving the book my all, but the author chose to depict an antagonist ordering and almost performing an action that didn’t need to happen on the pages, or even be referenced.

That’s it for me. I made it halfway and I’m done. I’m sure others will like it better and I wish them well.

I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
