Story: 5 Stars!
Narration: 5 Stars!
Overall: 5 Stars!

I haven’t read The Necromancer’s Dance so I came into the audiobook without any prior knowledge regarding the book. I had seen it recommended across the different groups and by friends, and I have read books by SJ Himes/Revella Hawthorne before and there’s no doubt she’s a very gifted author no matter the genre she writes in.

The story itself was really interesting, SJ Himes created a fairly original paranormal story with vampires and sorcerers interacting with humans, with an enthralling plotline that kept my interest throughout the book.

Angel was witty, intelligent and fun, perfectly capable of holding his own against anyone despite his physical appearance. Simeon was his perfect counterpart, dashing and loving, not afraid of showing his vulnerability to Angel. Their chemistry was amazing and they were very hot together.

Joel Leslie managed to somehow translate Angel’s quirky nature into audio perfectly, and he did a great job portraying the different male and female voices in the audiobook, same as providing the nuances needed for the different scenes from action to romance to the big climatic story near the end. I was completely entranced by his narration and swept into the story with his voice.

All in all, definitely an audiobook that you need to listen to. Highly recommendable!
