The main character is yet another iteration of the weird, paranoid, immature toddler who finally gets play soldier in real life that ruins all apocalyptic books. Nobody is as smart, as brave, as canny as this man. According to him, his wife & children are so very lucky that they are given the privilege of his unbearable personality. All characters are one-dimensional & their alinement depends solely on how much they stroke the main character’s ego. The only decent part of this is narration.
